Washing machine repair tip #2 – Black flakes on clothes.

Black or brown spots on clothing is often caused by a build up of excess soap or fabric softener in the machine. People frequently use the suggested soap usage on the container which is sometimes twice the amount needed especially if it is a concentrate detergent.

In extreme cases the inner bowl will have to be pulled out of the appliance to have the build up of detergent cleaned off. More often than not though the problem can be rectified with a descaler. The descaler is left to soak in the washing machine overnight with a full tub of water. The next day when the machine is pumped out hopefully out comes the old soap as well. To purchase the washing machine cleaner visit our Black Fakes On Clothes page.

Washing machine repair tip #3 – Washing machine not spinning.

Double and triple check all control settings, quite often washing machines have drip dry or no spin switch. Sometimes this switch is inadvertently switched over and the spin cycle is stopped.
